Detective Kim Bogucki

Detective Kim Bogucki has developed nationally replicated programs that create dialogue around issues of social justice between members of law enforcement and the communities they serve. She is the co-founder of The IF Project, an innovative partnership between law enforcement and currently or previously incarcerated adults.

Based on the success of The IF Project, the Seattle Police Department was recently awarded a highly
competitive $1,000,000 Bureau of Justice Assistance Women’s Reentry Grant. SPD is the first police department in the country to receive a reentry grant. This reentry grant provides necessary services to women released from Washington State Corrections Center. These services integrate reentering women into the businesses of Seattle and assist them in finding employment. The grant additionally assists women with housing, child care, drug treatment.

Detective Bogucki has made an incredible impact on Seattle and other cities across our nation with her
commitment, passion and dedication. Kim is truly deserving of an Excellence Award.
