The Seattle Police Explorers post is made up of a racially, ethnically, and economically diverse group of youth coming from all over the Seattle area. The Explorers are 14 to 21 years old who have expressed an interest in law enforcement and community service.  Explorers is a great way to connect youth to the criminal justice system in a positive way. Over the last four years, the youth have conducted over 20,600 hours of community service at over 100 community events.

This grant will further the post's opportunity to provide the three core values set by the program; building character, providing leadership, and ensuring good citizenship.  It will outfit an additional 25 explorers with a full uniform and providing training at the Yearly Explorer Camp.
